April's First Minnesota Home

April is a single mother of 2 and had been a renter for nearly a decade since she had moved out of her parents home. She was had been saving up for a home for a majority of that time and just wasn’t able to save enough and began to think she would never be able to purchase a home. She was under the impression that, in order to purchase her first home, 20% of the purchase price would be needed for the down payment on her mortgage. She was talking with her parents one evening and they decided to take a look online to see what information they could gather. They ended up on our website and submitted a request for additional information to see if April might qualify for any down payment assistance programs. We reached out to April right away and it turned out that she qualified for a program to cover most of her down payment and only required $1,000 of her own money. She applied that evening and was pre-approved for a mortgage with down payment assistance the next day and we were out looking at homes that weekend. April had her first home under contract within a week of thinking it was impossible for her to purchase. Minnesota has a number of different down payment assistance programs and grants available not only for first time home buyers but also for second time buyers as well. Imagine being able to go from hopeless to homeowner as quickly as April was able to. See what your options are today!
